Teen accused of being under influence of cannabis in wreck that killed Chillicothe girl
The 15-year-old who was operating the vehicle that was involved in the crash that killed 14-year-old Kayleigh Dalrymple was allegedly under the influence of cannabis when the wreck occurred, according to the Marshall County state’s attorney.
The juvenile driver, who does not possess a driver’s license, has been charged with reckless homicide, aggravated reckless driving and aggravated DUI in connection to Dalrymple’s death, according to information provided to the Journal Star by Marshall County State’s Attorney Patrick Murphy. The driver’s name has not been released because they are a minor.
Dalrymple was killed in a single-vehicle car crash near Chillicothe on Jan. 17. Police say she and five other teens were packed into a vehicle that was overcapacity when it left the roadway and crashed.
